Waterfall

This Painting is the first I have ever painted using Acrylic Paints. It was done as part of a Grade 9 art class I was in, attending Bishop Pinkham Junior High School in Calgary Alberta, Canada.
I was inspired by some photographs I took the previous summer break of water cascades in the Rocky Mountains West of Banff. The painting is on a canvas I stretched myself as a part of the course. I loved blending the colour as I went and exploring trying to bring a bit of reality to the image as well as practicing the techniques taught in the course on things like depth, balance, and contrast.
Unfortunatly the image on this page was captured with a simple Web Cam and there are problems with its focus. Hopefully I shall be able to use a better image in future.
