Bensene Scott Cleric Surgeon of the Unwall Ship Sea Dancer under Captain Sir Maximillion Long

Bensene Scott, cleric of the sky and weather god Velnus, now assigned to duty on the Unwall Ship Sea Dancer under the Captain Sir Maximillion Long. Its mission to boldly go forward and seek out the ship known as Wave Dancer and determine her fate. Her secondary mission to seek out the ship known as Phantom and capture or destroy her.

First Day
The Captain, Sir Maximillion Long, took us inland today to seek out the mysterious monk called by the name of Justin. We were accompanied by the Captain's mysterious wife, the magician Raven. Enroute to the monk's retreat we encountered carrion birds circling and a dying friend of the Captain. he had been poisoned and alas there was not time for me to save him.
We were to learn from a halfling called by Squinty that someone of interest to the Captain was staying at Justin's retreat along with Justin's disciples. It turned out that this person was someone the Captain knew and there was great enmity between them. Battle ensued and this person was defeated.

Second Day
The Sea Dancer was provisioned for the voyage and Captain Long, Raven, Justin, myself, Bensene Scott, and a few other officers went to Unwall's armoury to be equipped with various magical items that might help our mission's success.
We set sail.

Days later
We encountered wreckage of a ship today. The lone survivor told us of a great ship which his ship encountered. It was named the Trask. We think that the Trask might be one in the same ship as the Phantom which we seek. We hope that the Wave Dancer has not been sunk by the Trask.
The survivor escaped capture or death by way of cowardice. He claims that the Trask is three times the size of our own ship, the Sea Dancer. This would make the Trask 300 feet long! It is hard for us to believe and take the account as that given by a man in hysterics. We also rooted out of the survivor that the pirate ship had a ram and was propelled by oars.
A ship is spotted during the night hours. It is near a match for our own Sea Dancer in hull. It approaches and we are attacked!
We fear that the ship has a ram of some sort, perhaps magical. This is based on the description of the pirate attack. It is also thought that perhaps they have some sort of torpedo to ram with. Waiting for the ship to come into range our Captain, Long, heads to the enemy ship. Using the clerical gift of true seeing from Velnius and a minor miracle, I temporarily lower the water immediately in front of the attacking ship in order to disable it and prevent it from ramming. The ship "blinks" out of the way and apparently becomes invisible. The Lady Raven controls a "cube of force" which is all that prevents magical attacks and ballista from taking apart our ship. With effective use of the cube we loose not a man and our ship is barely touched.
The Captain and Justin are made captive on what we find out to be the Phantom!
Justin and Captain Maximillion duel unsuccessfully with the leaders of the Phantom and are bound in a cell.
The Phantom sails off with the Captain and Justin. I have a plan to rescue them, or at least to keep track of the Phantom. I take the ship's boat and a small crew to sea to chase down the Phantom. The Captain's two squires and Zinker join me on the rescue mission. We use the small size of the boat to stay somewhat out of sight and a wand of wind to keep up with the Phantom. My plan is to wait until dark and have Zinker drop three of us in the path of the Phantom. We would board and try to free the captives and then drop into the sea to be picked up by Zinker who is to follow the Phantom.
We are in luck and a white squall strikes the ship. Even before we can board her, lighting strikes the mast at the front of the Phantom. We use the distraction of the fire caused to board her. Another bolt of lightning strikes the aft section of the ship and I take it as a sign from the weather gods that there is where we shall find the Captain!
Looking into a hole in the poop deck I see Justin and Max trussed up and under guard. My spell ability is about all dried up at this time yet I feel the strength to cast a "hold spell" on the two guards. By the grace of Velnius it works and we free the Captain and Justin from their bonds. We escape with them into the sea.
Meantime, the Sea Dancer has come across a pirate ship of immense size! It turns out that there were indeed two ships, The Phantom and a pirate ship. The pirate ship is in the process of attacking the Micklemouse, a small coastal patrol ship of Unwall.
